Remember when we were still applying to universities? We had to fill up these long application forms and state our top three desired undergrad course programs. I don’t know about you, but I had too many dreams when I was 16. So my top three weren’t connected with each other at all: communication, engineering, and psychology.

Well, obviously, I ended up taking communication (I wouldn’t even be writing this if I didn’t). But math will always be “the one that got away”, so I make sure I’m not getting rusty with numbers. While probably half of the population avoids it, I’ll be in my room taking up an online matrix algebra course—for fun.

Now if you also consider your other course choices your TOTGA, keep scrolling. Here comes your chance to live your second dream (and maybe third if you have a lot of free time).

Fashion design

So what if you’re a pre-med student? That doesn’t mean you can’t pursue fashion anymore. You don’t have to sacrifice your molecular biology books to expand your knowledge on fashion. Alison offers free fashion design courses that will only take about six to 10 hours to finish.

By the end of the program, you’ll know its history and principles. You’ll also learn how to develop your own designs.

Music production

Don’t let your guitar or piano collect dust. If you have the talent to play them, why not learn music production? Udemy has a variety of music production courses suitable for every level of expertise.

You can also take some free vocal lessons while you’re at it (you probably need it, no offense meant).

Personal development

Everyone wants to get their life together. (I mean, who doesn’t?) And believe it or not, enrolling at Coursera means you’re one step closer to achieving that. The University of California, Irvine offers a career success specialization course entitled, “Work Smarter, Not Harder: Time Management for Personal & Professional Productivity.” The course title already explains it all. Need I say more?
