Holiday season is hoodie season, change our minds

If you’re one to wear hoodies even when the temperature’s high, you’ve probably heard “It’s so hot, why the heck are you still wearing a hoodie?” an awful lot of times. The holidays (and maybe the stormy weather) used to be the only times when you can wear thick clothes without getting judged by random people.
For this year though, the signature holiday breeze is nonexistent. Is it just because you’re staying at home so you’re not feeling it? Or is it global warming taking its revenge again? No one really knows. But what you should know for sure is that this isn’t enough reason to stop wearing hoodies during the holidays. Nah-uh, when these three advantages exist.
Good cuddle buddy
Being single is nice and all, until you badly need cuddles to go with your warm cup of chocolate. And it’s not like you can easily call a friend over (gentle reminder that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic). So what now? Drowning yourself in an oversized hoodie can do the trick. It works as well as being under a security blanket.
Hugging a stuffed toy or fluffy pillow can also provide extra comfort. “Pay attention to the objects that surround you throughout the day and see if you can bring in some items specifically pleasing to the touch,” said a professional relationship coach.
Little to no direct skin contact
Not everyone is touch starved, you know? There are people who don’t like physical touch. Even just the idea of feeling someone’s body near them or people tapping their shoulder makes their skin crawl. So if you’re part of this club, hoodies might be the knight in shining armor you’ve been waiting for.
Accidental skin contact in public places is unavoidable, especially right now when people are going out to shop for gifts. Wearing a hoodie can help you avoid that as it covers every inch of your skin.
No need for a bag
Who says you can’t go bagless when going out? You can—with a hoodie. Its huge kangaroo pocket may serve as storage for your essentials: flat wallet, tiny bottle of alcohol, phone, and a foldable reusable bag (when you’re off to shop for your company’s Secret Santa event). You can even sneak in a portable mirror or a lip tint if you really don’t want to leave those behind.
Now if you’re still not convinced to wear hoodies even after knowing these and you see people wearing them in public while the sun’s out, please mind your business. You’re not the one suffering in heat anyway, right? Just let them be!
